In short, a Wellness & Yoga week in Comigo is a wonderful, healthy relaxing week for yourself!

Vegetarian Food.

During the Wellness – Yoga weeks (only in Casa Conmigo) you can enjoy super healthy whole food dishes. Everything as pure and unprocessed as possible.

 

The dishes are vegetarian, with the option (for guests who wish) of fish. Furthermore, the menu is low carb and low sugar.

 

You enjoy breakfast, lunch and a 3-course dinner daily. After a wellness week, your body has really received a healthy reset and you can take it again!

Excersise.

A healthy mind in a healthy body. Movement is also part of that. That is why we offer various sports lessons, in which you can choose to participate.

We start the day with a beautiful walk in the valley, or along the cliffs and the beach.

Every afternoon you can enjoy a relaxing yoga or relaxercise class, on the yoga terrace or in our beautiful yoga dome.

3 times a week you can participate in aqua jogging or body shape. A slightly more intensive muscle-building sports lesson. Our enthusiastic sports teachers always make something beautiful out of it. Fun guaranteed!

Trips.

There are also a number of fun trips on the program.

 

Lagos, a 30 minute drive away, is an attractive, pleasant coastal town. Whoever enters the center notices the lively dynamics of a thriving city. You will find nice terraces everywhere, there is a beautiful boulevard and numerous events are organized during the season.

 

Silves, a 20-minute drive away, was the capital of the Algarve during the Arab occupation. It is to this that the town owes its mansions and its red castle which is worth discovering.

 

Shopping, did you forget something or do you just love shopping? A large shopping center is just a 10-minute drive away. You will find all major brands here.

With a successful Wellness week, the treatments should not be missed! During your stay we offer you a massage of 25 minutes and 2 lymphatic drainages.

Our Principles.

Our program, based on our many years of experience (more than 15 years!), Is refined and adjusted every day to be even more efficient. It relies on a few important principles:

Vegetarian: the wellness program is vegetarian with the exception of a number of days on which we serve fish for guests who wish. We pay attention to the pH value of food, because we want to deacidify the body. Since animal products are acidifying, we only use them to a limited extent during the wellness week.

Low carbohydrate: we serve less and especially complex carbohydrates during the wellness week.. When you eat carbohydrates, your blood sugar (glucose) rises. When you eat too many carbohydrates, your cells are full of glucose and glucose can remain in your blood. Glucose in the blood clogs the veins, causes inflammation, …
Almost all carbohydrates are stored as fat. Insulin is the hormone that carries glucose to fat cells. When you eat too many carbohydrates, the insulin in your blood rises. In high doses, insulin is toxic, causes cell damage, cancer and atherosclerosis, nerve damage and limb pain. In addition, a consistently high level of insulin causes the cells to stop responding to insulin. This is called insulin resistance and can lead to type 2 diabetes and heart disease, Alzheimer’s, etc.
Insulin resistance leads the body to believe that there is not enough glucose stored in the cells, and sends the signal to use muscle mass to make glucose. Result? You lose muscle mass and gain weight. Instead of feeling energized after eating, you feel tired and feel the need for more carbohydrates. Because you now also have less muscles, moving becomes hard and you end up in a vicious circle. 

Low-acid foods: to give the body a chance to get rid of accumulated toxins. With low acidity we think of vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. Acidic food includes meat, additives, trans fats, … Toxins that cannot be removed immediately are stored in the fat cell. This ensures that your body cannot properly use this fat cell for energy supply. We will then continue to work on carbohydrate burning, and not on fat burning. 

Healthy fats: in addition to olive oil, we also use coconut oil and MCT oil during the program because it can withstand higher temperatures, has an anti-inflammatory effect, is used quickly by the body and is not stored in the fat cells. 

Alcohol-free: during the wellness week we do not offer alcoholic drinks.
