FAQ: What should I do if I feel bloated?

Immediately after eating and suffering from an energy dip? With the right tips you can get rid of that ‘I won’t fit in my pants’ feeling. You have to do this with a bloated feeling!

Eat enough fibre

A bloated feeling is often lurking when you suffer from irregular bowel movements. So be sure to eat enough fibre (fruit, vegetables and cereals, for example) to keep your bowels in top condition.

Check your intolerances or allergies

The worse you can tolerate your food, the greater the chance of bloating. Too much gas in your bowels (aka embarrassing winds), an upset stomach or a “big belly” can be the result of an intolerance or allergy to a certain food.

Eat more often, but less

A big, heavy meal often goes hand in hand with a bloated feeling. It is wiser to spread small portions throughout the day and chew long enough (at least 20 times!) The less air you swallow, the smaller the chance of bloating.

Tea or warm water to the rescue

Stimulate your digestion by a cup of warm water with lemon or drink tea (ginger or green tea for example) after your meal.

Take care of your guts with a supplement

Support your bowels (which play an important role in your energy level)? A supplement with pre- and probiotics is always a good idea. The condition of your intestinal mucosa is also often wrongly overlooked. Just one word: supplementation!
